Harbor Bay Yacht Club - Location
Sailing from Lake Erie, Harbor Bay Yacht Club is located at Sandusky Harbor Marina which is located on the Southwest end of Sandusky Bay. On the above map, it's about where the tip of the HBYC burgee points. The GPS coordinates are Latitude 41-27.15 N and Longitude 82-44.5 W for the marina. The marina is just west of the coal dock and the marina entrance is on the east side of the marina next to the large white "Sandusky Harbor Marina" lighted sign. The route directly from off the tip of the coal dock to the entrance is usually deep enough for vessels drawing 6-ft. Depths may be shallower after strong southwest winds. Call SHM at 800-877-3625 for dock reservations during working hours. If no one answers stop at the gas dock (if the door is open) near the entrance for docking instructions. Otherwise pick and empty dock (without a dock box or lines) until a dock can be assigned by at the office the next day. ILYA affiliated Yacht clubs members have reciprocal docking privileges of one free day before regular docking rates apply. The HBYC club and facilities are located on the south side of the marina near the office.
Driving from State Route 2, exit at State Route 101, going north off ramp to the second traffic light ( Venice Road). Turn left on Venice Road (State Route 6), go 1/4 mile, cross railroad tracks and immediately turn right onto Huron Street. The signs to Sandusky Harbor Marina will also lead you to the Harbor Bay Yacht club the end of the street. We are about an hour and west of Cleveland or an hour east of Toledo.
